Breaking Barriers: Heart and Hip Opening

Are you ready to embark on a transformative journey into heart and hip opening? This module is about breaking through the chronic pain and holding patterns in your body that have been shaped by physical, mental, and emotional trauma. Our work together will focus on gently unwinding the patterns and restrictions that are limiting you, helping to relieve pain, move freely and naturally embody Authentic Alignment.

You'll learn 6 simple yet powerful exercises specifically designed to open the chest, or thoracic cage, and the hips. Obviously these areas often bear the brunt of our forward postural habits, which can lead to pain, restriction, and a sense of being closed off. It's also important to name that when we are stressed, we curl in and forward developing chronic holding patterns as our body's response to trauma and self-protection. Think about it—when we're stressed or overwhelmed, our instinct isn’t to open up, but to close in, to protect ourselves. This module is about learning to open up again, to expand, and to breathe into those spaces that have been closed off. Our goal with these exercises is to reverse these embodied patterns, helping you feel aligned, balanced, strong, and flexible in your body and your BEing.

The exercises you'll be practicing— Snow Angel, Thoracic Extension on a Soft Ball, Hanging Stretch, Half Kneeling, and Hip Opening on a Yoga Block—are more than just movements. They are invitations to be with yourself, to listen to your body, and to honor what it needs. This practice is about creating a safe space for yourself, taking the time to unwind and open up in a way that feels supportive and nurturing.

These are not a simple exercise routine. It’s a practice of self-care and self-connection. You'll be guided to give yourself permission to simply BE in the moment, to feel your body opening, expanding, and breathing. This is about valuing yourself, taking care of yourself, and supporting yourself in the process.

As your body begins to release these old patterns, you'll find it easier to embody and maintain your Authentic Alignment, both physically and in how you show up in the world. This is the metaphor at the heart of this module: as you break through physical barriers, you're also breaking through barriers within, allowing yourself to stand tall and live more fully aligned with who you truly are.
